报告人简介：

Diana Boraschi，中科院深圳先进技术研究院炎症与疫苗研究室主任，中科院深圳理工大学药学院荣誉教授。意大利国家研究院院士，意大利Accademia Dei Fisiocritici学院院士，意大利顶级科学家（Top Italian Scientists）和顶级女科学家（Top Italian Women Scientists）俱乐部成员。2022年中国政府友谊奖及第一届广东省友谊奖获得者，国家级外专千人计划专家，中国科学院百人计划A类专家，中国科学院“国际人才计划”PIFI学者。她在免疫学领域已发表230多篇同行评议研究论文,包括Nature, Science, Nature Immunology, PNAS, JEM, Blood, Science Translational Medicine等，H指数为68，引用大于17000次，是28本书的作者或编辑，92本书的专题作者，拥有8项发明专利。主要研究方向为天然免疫系统的机制研究，尤其专注于巨噬细胞和炎症因子在抗炎和抗癌过程中所发挥的作用以及疫苗佐剂及其安全性，主要研究对象为白介素受体IL-1R家族及相应细胞因子（IL-1和IL-18）。

报告摘要：

Inflammation is a powerful defensive mechanism, highly conserved in evolution, that mainly involves the activation of phagocytes against infectious microorganisms and other dangerous agents. The difference between physiological protective inflammation and pathological destructive inflammation is due to anomalies in the molecular mechanisms of innate immune/inflammatory regulation. We will explore how inflammation is regulated and how it can be exploited for curing diseases, including cancer.
